^Lot 4425 INTERESTING EUROPEAN RAPIER.

This interesting European rapier has a 44" oval blade with a 13" fuller. The fuller is marked " IIIIIIII INRII IIIIIIII MARIA IIIIIIIII". The guard is a double lobe pierced plate that is attached with screws and features extending concentric loops that terminate with the S guard and double branch knuckle guard. It is capped with a fluted pommel and has a spiral wire wrapped grip that terminates with Turkish knots. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have a lightly cleaned grey patina with strong markings.
